If the ambient temperature exceeds 29°C, the egg production drops significantly; when the temperature exceeds 32°C, the egg production decreases sharply or even stops production; there is a risk of heat stroke at high temperatures. Therefore, summer must be done to prevent heatstroke, pay attention to increase ventilation and ventilation. 3. Reduce the stocking density. The suitable density for flats for free-range farming is generally 3 to 5 per square meter, and the size of chickens should not be large. For example, large groups of about 250 animals are suitable. If it is overcrowded, it will easily deteriorate the ambient air and sanitation conditions in the house, resulting in a decrease in egg production.
4. Give enough clean drinking water. The quality of water is very important to the health and physiological function of the chicken body. Therefore, only water that is not contaminated can be used for feeding chickens. The death of chickens caused by severed drinking water is faster than death caused by the absence of any other nutrients, and death is serious. Studies have found that laying hens who are not drinking water for 24 hours are likely to die. Therefore, provide enough clean drinking water for chickens.
5. Feed sand. When there is sand in the stomach of the chicken, the digestibility of the pellet feed will increase by 10%, and the digestibility of the powder will increase by 3%. Laying hens are required to feed sand once a week. They can be sprinkled on the feed or placed in the bowl for chicken feeding. About 500 grams of sand is given for every 100 chickens, and a diameter of 4 to 5 mm is appropriate.
6. Improve feed. Add 3% beancake and 2% fishmeal to the feed. At the same time, 0.5% of shell flour or calcium carbonate must be added to the feed to supplement the calcium and phosphorus substances needed for eggs and eggshells. In the summer, it is better to feed the chickens with wet materials, and do the feeding less frequently to prevent deterioration of the leftovers.
