At present, bacterial pesticides are widely used in the prevention and control of flower and tree pests. It has the advantages of high control efficiency, no pollution, no residual toxicity, etc. Bacterial pesticides are living preparations. Their insecticidal principle is that bacteria enter the body of a worm and multiply, producing toxic parasporal crystals, disturbing the normal physiological metabolism of pests and killing them. It is different from the insecticide principle of chemical pesticides. Improper use will reduce the efficacy or even be completely ineffective.
Improve the use of bacterial pesticides to achieve the following "five look":
First, look at the sun:
In order to weaken the damaging effect of ultraviolet light on bacterial spores in sunlight, it is best to use bacterial pesticides on cloudy days or after 4:00 pm. If crude molasses or corn syrup can be added to powdered bacterial pesticides, there will be some effect.
Second, look at the temperature:
Suitable temperatures for using bacterial pesticides are above 25°C. When the temperature is low to a certain extent, the insecticidal effect is completely lost. Bacterial pesticides are used at temperatures between 25°C and 30°C and they are 1 to 2 times more effective than at 10°C to 15°C. Therefore, it is best not to use bacterial pesticides at temperatures below 20°C.
Third, look at the humidity:
The greater the humidity in the environment, the better the efficacy of the bacterial pesticides. Therefore, the use of bacterial pesticides should be carried out in the morning and evening with dew, in order to facilitate the bacterial agent adhere to the stems and leaves, and to promote spores, increase the chance of contact with the pests. In addition, moister soils help the adsorption of the bacteria and thus increase the insecticidal effect.
Fourth, look at the wind:
Bacteria and pesticides are wasted on windy days, especially for powders, and they are more lost. At the same time, windy days are not conducive to the germination of spores. Therefore, bacterial pesticides should be applied on windless or breezy days.
V. Look at rainwater:
Medium to heavy rain will flush out bacterial pesticides that are sprayed on the stems and leaves of plants, reducing the effectiveness of control. If it is drizzle 5 hours after spraying, it will increase the effectiveness of control. In order to ensure the efficacy of the drug, it should be applied on a cloudy or light rainy day in the absence of moderate to heavy rain within 1 to 2 days after application. After application, in case of moderate to heavy rain, immediately after the rain, supplements should be applied. At this time, the insecticidal effect is best.
