First, storage conditions
Hazelnuts have a low moisture content after drying, ranging from 5% to 7%, which is more resistant to storage. However, nuts are sensitive to temperature and humidity. During storage, if the temperature exceeds 20°C or the light is seen for a long time, it will accelerate the conversion of fat to produce a “hacha†and be inedible; when the relative humidity of the air is more than 75%, it will make the nuts moldy. Therefore, the conditions for storage of hazelnuts are low temperature, low oxygen, dryness and protection from light. The suitable conditions are that the temperature is below 15°C to 20°C, the relative humidity of the air is 60% to 70%, and the light in the warehouse is dark. Under these conditions, hazelnut nuts can be stored for two years without deterioration.
Second, the storage method
(1) General warehouse storage
Ordinary warehouse storage, according to the ventilation method is divided into ordinary ventilation and improved ventilation. The common ventilation warehouse completely depends on the natural wind pressure formed by the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the reservoir for ventilation, and the efficiency is low. The improved ventilation warehouse replaces natural ventilation with mechanical forced ventilation, and can fully utilize the natural cold source to reduce the storage temperature.
The hazelnuts collected after harvesting are packed in sacks, twigs, and net bags, and stored in warehouses. In order to prolong the storage period, it is best to use kraft paper pouches, 10 kg bag, seal the bag mouth.
Warehouses can store bagged hazelnuts in a stack. In this way, the floor space can be reduced and the handling of the inventory can be facilitated. However, the sacks should not cling to the ground. They should be erected with square wood and leave the ground. Can not rely on the wall, to leave room for ventilation. During storage, keep the inside of the warehouse clean, dry, ventilated, and cool without any rat damage. It is forbidden to co-locate with kerosene, chemical fertilizers and pesticides, or other odor-absorbing articles, drugs, and corrosive materials.
(B) CO2 sealed storage
In order to prevent deterioration of hazelnuts caused by high temperatures in summer, storage can be performed using a closed storage method using carbon dioxide. The specific method is based on the above stacking code. That is, first lay a layer of plastic cloth on the ground, and then stack it. After the stacking, cover it with a layer of plastic sheeting, overlap the edges of the upper and lower plastics and press it tightly with sand to prevent air leakage. Then leave the bottom and fill with carbon dioxide gas. When the concentration of carbon dioxide gas in the plastic cover reaches 80% or more, the inflation is stopped and the air hole is tightly closed. Afterwards, the carbon dioxide gas concentration should be measured frequently. When it is insufficient, it should be supplemented in time. At the same time, pay attention to prevent air leakage. In addition, try to avoid the outside temperature affect the temperature inside the library.
