Fujian Resident Training Rules issued

The Fujian Provincial Department of Health and the Department of Finance recently jointly formulated the “Detailed Rules for the Implementation of Standardized Training for Resident Physicians in Fujian Province (Trial)”, and put forward specific requirements for coordination of provincial and local governments and management training of residents.

The "Implementation Rules" proposes that the training base shall have a director responsibility system, and that the duration of training for undergraduate education shall be 3 years; graduate graduate students shall, according to the principle of "what do they lack," reduce examination subjects and training time accordingly according to different types.

The "Implementation Rules" proposes that resident training should focus on cultivating clinical practice capabilities, mainly adopting the method of rotation of relevant clinical departments, implementing the 24-hour resident system responsibility system for the first year, 12-hour responsibility system for the second year and third year, and training. The director of the base is responsible for organizing the qualified doctors to form a teaching team to teach and guide the resident doctors; the resident doctors can only participate in the unified reunification of the whole province after passing the public subject theory test, daily assessment, passing the examination, and qualifying as a practicing doctor. Comprehensive assessment of graduation, all those who pass the examination are issued the “Qualification Training for Resident Physicians” issued by the Medical Education Committee after graduation from the Ministry of Health. During the training period, the provincial and municipal finances provided living allowances at a rate of 1,000 yuan per person per month.
