Feeding management technology for meat pigeons

Meat pigeons, commonly known as ground pigeons or vegetable pigeons, are of large body size, are not good at flying, have early sexual maturity, and breed quickly, mainly producing meat and eggs. According to the growth and development characteristics of meat pigeons in different stages, different feeding and management methods should be adopted.

1 Feeding and management of pigeons After the pigeons have left their nests, they must thoroughly clean and disinfect the nests. After 5 to 6 hours after hatching, young pigeons should apply artificial adjustments if they still find that the relatives do not feed pigeon milk. The method is to carefully insert the mouth of the pigeon into the mouth of the pigeon. After several repetitions, the pigeons are usually nurtured. If during the nurturing period, the pro pigeons develop disease, artificial feeding can be done by soaking rice and mung beans for 1 hour, or drying the faba bean in 0.5% saline for 20 hours and then breaking into small granules. 9-day-old pigeons cut the soaked beans into 8 small pellets; 10 to 12-day-old pigeons cut the soaked beans into 1/4 size; 13 to 14 days old pigeons cut Feed it in 1/2 size; after 15 days of age, the squab is granulated, with vinegar, milk powder and vitamins in strips. Open the mouth of the pigeon gently by hand and fill in the feed. Fill it in. When the balloon is properly inflated, 5 mL of warm water is finally fed. Fill in three times a day early, middle and late. In addition, the legumes and cereals can also be steamed, washed with cold boiled water, and then hand-fed.

2 Breeding and management of youngsters of youngsters and youngsters are generally referred to as young birds of 1 to 2 months of age. Young or spare pigeons refer to pigeons of 3 to 6 months of age. When the pigeons feed their own food, they feed the rice. After 1 week, they feed the millet, green beans, and wheat. After 3 weeks, they can feed a small amount of peas. The composition of the diet: 30% for legume feed, 70% for energy feed, 3 feeds per day, and sufficient water supply at the same time. In order to help digestion and increase appetite, appropriate amounts of salt and stomach medicine can be added to the water. In addition, sufficient health care sand should be provided for free admission. You can add appropriate amounts of cool detoxifying herbs in health sand, and add some antibiotics in drinking water to prevent the occurrence of diseases. In order to prevent the pigeons from becoming fat or premature, they should be fed in limited quantities, fed twice a day, timed and sterilized once a week. When catching a pigeon or holding a pigeon, be careful not to tightly grasp the pigeon's rib wings with your hands, otherwise the pigeon will suffocate by 2-3 minutes.

3 Breeding management of producing pigeons Production pigeons are also called production pigeons, ie adult birds that have been paired, are preparing to lay eggs or are hatching and brooding, and have been brooded with old birds, which are called pigeons. The breeding pigeons are paired and basketed. After the animals are settled, they are ready for breeding. After the breeding, the eggs are laid 7 to 8 days later. Prior to laying eggs, nests should be placed in cages and littered. The litter is preferably made of burlap and put husks or wood chips under the burlap to create nests that resemble a pot bottom. The production of pigeons, to strengthen the feeding and management, improve the nutritional level of feed, beans protein feed can account for 35% to 40%, energy feed 60% to 65%, fed 3 to 4 times a day. For non-banded pigeons, the nutritional level of the diet may be slightly lower. The legume protein feed accounts for 25% to 30%, the energy feed accounts for 70% to 75%, and is fed twice a day. All pigeons and non-belt-producing pigeons should be provided with enough drinking water and health sand, cleaned the loft every day, cleaned the troughs and drinkers, and keep them clean. Generally, 12 to 20 days after the hatchlings hatched, the pro-pigeons will begin to lay eggs. The eggs are produced in another room in the double-joint room. In this way, the pro-bred brooders and the laying eggs are correct. A pair of meat pigeons produces 6 to 8 pairs of pigeons a year.
