Abstract: Oils and fats are sensitive to oxygen, and peanut oil is no exception. This paper monitors the amount of oxygen that peanut oil may be exposed to during the storage period from the perspective of oxygen barrier performance of plastic peanut oil barrels, and introduces the detection process of oxygen permeation, the test principle and equipment parameters of the OX2/230 oxygen transmission rate test system. The company provides reference for testing the oxygen barrier test method or test equipment for containers such as peanut oil barrels.

1 , meaning
Peanut oil is a common edible oil. It is light yellow, has a fragrant smell, pure taste, high unsaturated fatty acid content, lowers total cholesterol and harmful cholesterol in the blood, regulates blood lipids, prevents cardiovascular diseases, and is rich in peanut oil. Resveratrol, vitamin E , phospholipids and other beneficial substances, have anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-oxidation, anti-cancer, protect the blood vessel wall and other effects. Like other oils and fats, peanut oil is an easily oxidizable oil. During storage and use, when it is exposed to enough oxygen, it will undergo auto-oxidation reaction, while some metal ions in heat, light and peanut oil Under the action, it will accelerate the oxidative rancidity and deterioration, causing the destruction of nutrients such as fatty acids in peanut oil, producing harmful substances such as peroxides, aldehydes and ketones, and long-term consumption of such oxidized rancid oils will promote aging. It is likely to induce cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and tumors. Therefore, minimizing the oxygen content in contact with peanut oil is an important measure to prevent the oxidative rancidity of peanut oil and ensure good oil quality during storage.
Commonly used packaging materials for edible oils in the market include PET barrels, PE barrels, tinplate tins, glass bottles, etc. Among them, tinplate can meet the storage requirements of edible oils in terms of barrier properties and light protection, but the cost is high. . The packaging of peanut oil is common with PET barrels, and the bottom of the barrel or barrel is marked with the number 1 .

2 , reference standard
At present, there is no detection standard for oxygen permeability of containers in China. The detection process of this paper is based on ASTM F1307-2002 (2007) "Standard Test Method for Determination of Oxygen Permeability of Solid Packages by Using Electricity Sensors".
3 , test samples
In this paper, a peanut oil barrel for packaging in a peanut oil production enterprise is used as a test sample to introduce the detection method of oxygen barrier performance of the packaging container.
4 , test equipment
ASTM F1307 specifies the oxygen transmission rate of the packaging container by isostatic pressing. Therefore, the oxygen barrier performance of the sample is tested by the OX2/230 oxygen permeation test system independently developed by Jinan Languang Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd.

4.1 Equipment Principle
The OX2/230 oxygen transmission rate test system uses the isostatic test principle to clamp the pre-treated sample between the test chambers. Oxygen or air flows on one side of the film, and high-purity nitrogen on the other side of the film. Flowing, oxygen molecules diffuse through the membrane to the other side of the high purity nitrogen and are carried to the sensor by the flowing nitrogen. By analyzing the oxygen concentration measured by the sensor, parameters such as oxygen transmission rate are calculated. For packaging containers, high purity nitrogen flows through the container, and air or high purity oxygen surrounds the outside of the container.
4.2 Scope of application
- Film type: It is suitable for oxygen transmission rate test of film materials such as plastic cover film, plastic composite film, paper-plastic composite film, co-extruded film, aluminized film, aluminum foil, aluminum-plastic composite film.
- Sheet type: It is suitable for oxygen transmission rate test of sheet materials such as PP , PVC sheet and PVDC sheet.
- Containers: Suitable for oxygen transmission rate testing of bottles, bags, cans, boxes and barrels made of plastic, rubber, paper, paper-plastic composite, glass, metal, etc., such as Coke bottles, peanut oil barrels, Tetra Pak, Vacuum packaging bags, metal cans, plastic cosmetic packaging, toothpaste hoses, jelly cups, yogurt cups, etc.
- Standard: meet a number of national and international standards ISO 15105-2, GB / T 19789, ASTM D3985, ASTM F2622, ASTM F1307, ASTM F1927, JIS K7126-2, YBB00082003 like.
4.3 Equipment parameters
- The test range of the film sample is 0.01 ~ 6500 cm 3 /(m 2 ·d) , the resolution is 0.001 cm 3 /(m 2 ·d) , and the test range of the container sample is 0.0001 ~ 60 cm 3 /( Pkg·d) with a resolution of 0.00001 cm 3 /(pkg·d) .
- Three identical or different samples can be tested at the same time . The system can support parallel connection of 10 instruments and establish an efficient system for simultaneous testing of 30 samples.
- The test temperature control range is 15 ~ 55 °C , and the temperature control accuracy is ±0.1 °C .
- The test humidity control range is 0%RH , 35%RH~90%RH , and the humidity control accuracy is ±1%RH .
- Wide range, high precision temperature and humidity control range, both sides of the sample can be humidified to achieve the test under different temperature and humidity conditions.
- Pressure compensation technology guarantees high precision and repeatability of test results.
- It can be combined with the water vapor transmission rate test system to form a hybrid test system, which is controlled by a computer to achieve simultaneous oxygen and water vapor transmission rate testing.

5 , the test process
(1) Fix the peanut oil drum sample with the quick-setting glue on the container sealing device. After the sealing is completed, clamp it into the equipment, and then seal the container and the sealing tray with a sealed bag.

(2) Set test parameters such as test temperature and test humidity. Click the test option and the test starts.
(3) Adjust the humidity and carrier gas flow.
(4) After the test is completed, the test results automatically calculated by the recording device are read.
6 , test results
The peanut oil barrel sample tested in this paper has an oxygen transmission rate of 0.8507 cm 3 /(pkg·d) .
7 , conclusion
The higher oxygen barrier property of peanut oil barrels is one of the key factors to ensure the high quality of the peanut oil in the storage process. The oxygen permeability of peanut oil barrels of different materials is quite different. The monitoring of oxygen barrier performance is peanut oil.
