2014 SCI Impact Factor Report Released

On July 30th, Beijing time, the much-watched Thomson Reuters "SCI Journal Citation Reports" was released. The report covers 10,927 journals in 237 major categories in 82 countries. This year, 379 journals have been added, and 33 journals have been removed because of their high self-introduction.
In all the magazines listed in this edition, 56% of the magazines have increased the impact factor, while the other 44% of the magazines have a decreasing impact factor. In 2013, in all magazines, there were only three journals with more than 500 citations, which were Nature, PNAS, and Science.
The medical journal Ca-Cancer J Clin is still in the first place with an impact factor of 162.500, 153.459 in 2012, the second is NEJM, the impact factor is 54.420, and in 2012 it was 51.658. CHEM REV magazine rose to third place, replacing NAT REV GENET, a journal of Nature Press last year, had an impact factor of 45.661, while the influence factor of Nat Rev Genet magazine dropped to 39.794, compared with 41.063 in 2012.
The changes in the impact factors of the three major journals of CNS have also received much attention from the outside world. According to the latest report, the impact factors of the three magazines all increased in 2013. The influence factor of Nature magazine was 42.351, which was higher than the 38.597 announced in 2013. The ranking also increased significantly, ranking the fifth. Cell and Science magazine's impact factors also rose, 33.116, 31.477, of which Cell magazine ranked 16th this year, followed by Science magazine, ranked 17th.
The impact factor is, to a certain extent, one of the quality standards of a magazine, and can bring too much beyond science: faculty, fund applications, academic influence, etc. Although many scholars have criticized the magazine's influence factors, they are still the fans of these top magazines when they publish their papers.
