Freshwater Whitefish Wintering Management

Freshwater whitefish are tropical and subtropical fish. When the water temperature is lower than 12 degrees Celsius, it will die; when it is 18 to 19 degrees Celsius, it can survive, but it is easy to get sick or even die in large quantities. Therefore, whether it is the use of plastic greenhouses and geothermal water over the winter, or the use of plant waste heat over the winter, freshwater white storks wintering management work is particularly important. First of all, fish of different specifications must be subdivided into ponds for winter, and fish should be selected for fish with robust physique, smooth surface, and no injuries. The wintering density should be appropriate. The average species of fish is 40,000 to 50,000 per mu and the broodstock does not exceed 200 kg per mu. When feeding, we should adhere to the principle of “a small amount of time, no leftover bait”. Day and night patrol ponds should insist on measuring the water temperature every day, observing the fish, and finding problems should be dealt with promptly. To change the water once a month, each time changing the water does not exceed 1/3, pay attention to control the water temperature when changing the water, so that the water temperature is maintained at 24 to 32 degrees Celsius, and the temperature difference before and after the change should not exceed 2 degrees Celsius. Due to the long wintering period of freshwater whitefish, if the density is high and the water quality is poor, it is easy to develop. When the water temperature is 18 to 20 degrees Celsius, juvenile fish are susceptible to small echinococcosis, white skin disease, third generation worms, etc., especially small echinococcosis, can easily lead to fulminant death. In addition, it also infects larvae disease, trichoderma, trichomonad disease, and bacterial rot disease. If there is a diseased fish, it should be treated in a timely manner and care must be taken not to use “trichlorfon”. The bottom of the pool should always be cleared of dirt. If there is no sewage equipment at the bottom of the pool, siphon can be used to suck out feces, residual baits, etc., and change the water regularly. To keep the wintering area quiet, try to avoid scaring overwintering fish.
