Gel (NUPREP® SKIN PREP GEL)
Model: 10-30, 10-61
-description-
The gel contains the following ingredients: water, alumina, 1,2 propylene glycol, sodium polyacrylate, methyl paraben, propyl paraben, pigment: FD&C Blue 1; FD&C Red 40; FD&C Yellow 5.
-use-
When used, lower skin impedance can enhance test results, such as:
EEG test, (cerebral cortex) evoked potential test procedure, ECG stress test, cardiac recovery monitoring, cardiac catheter monitoring test process.
- Conductive impedance index -
When the gel is used, the skin impedance is lowered and lowered to below 50,000 Ω.
-Instructions-
Neurological diagnostic electrode - non-disposable (bell-shaped electrode) wet the cotton swab with a gel to remove excess gel. Gently rub the skin on the skin for 4 to 5 turns and draw the circle diameter to be similar to the electrode to be used. Under normal skin conditions: the applied pressure is similar to the force applied to the nail with a nail. For infants and elderly patients, the application pressure is reduced compared to adults. The required resistance is obtained by applying a cotton swab with 3 or 4 rounds of friction under very light pressure.
To reduce natural skin impedance, wash your head before testing and do not use any lotion or oil. If you need to use more gel to achieve the required impedance, you can use an additional 1 to 2 rounds of friction without increasing the pressure.
ECG electrode:
For stress testing, Holt's ECG dynamic monitor, cardiac recovery electrode, first contact the skin with an alcohol swab to degrease the skin, apply enough gel to moisten a quarter of the mesh mat, in each The electrode of the application electrode was rubbed for 6 to 7 turns, and the excess gel was removed with the dried portion of the mesh pad. Attach the self-adhesive electrode to the prepared site.
-caveat-
Avoid contact with the eyes. If you accidentally get into the eyes, rinse with water for 10 to 15 minutes. Avoid rubbing your eyes.
Do not apply to wounds or inflamed skin.
Do not apply to patients who are allergic or sensitive to cosmetics or lotions. If rash, redness, itching, swelling or any abnormal skin occurs, wash off the gel immediately.
Do not rub too much. May cause local wear of permanent scars. The patient is informed that the application of the electrode site is persistently red, painful or swollen. If the local infection is not treated, it may cause permanent scars.
Long-term electrode sites must be checked for irritation or redness by removing the electrodes at least daily. Nuprep gels contain insoluble materials that may cause shadows or interference with MRI tests. Before performing an MRI test, make sure that the gel used in the neurological test does not remain at the electrode site.
- safety and handling -
Nuprep gel: If it is taken carelessly, it is non-toxic. There are no known hazards for health care workers; they may be discarded without special treatment. Please cover the bottle and store it at room temperature.
